CDXC HF Challenge 2024

The 2024 HF Challenge saw a slight drop in the number of DXCC being worked but quite a big increase in the amount of QSOs being made, this year a total of 50,916 Qs were made and out of those 41,370 was using MGM, 2,730 using CW and 6816 using SSB. Compared to last year MGM and SSB was up and CW had dropped. Still some good DX worked in all of the modes.

It is worth reminding members that there three conditions that all need to be satisfied if you are to win a Trophy, Salver or Certificate. These are clearly stated in the rules and are:

  1. Be a fully paid up member of CDXC for the duration of the respective Challenge
  2. Upload to Club Log and LoTW as per the Challenge rules (different dates apply)
  3. Not have won the Trophy in question in the preceding three years

Where this is the case we have annotated the results with an asterisk. It often means the outright winner does not receive the Trophy. We will be a bit more lenient and provide certificates in such cases.

For CW, Lionel, G5LP* topped the table again this year with 129 DXCC followed by Paul G4PVM with 83 and Nathan KF9LI with 44. Per the eligibility criteria above, the Hinson (CW) Trophy 2024 goes to Paul G4PVM

For SSB, Norman, 5B4AIF* topped the table again with 112 DXCC followed by Stephen, G7BXU* with 57 and Robert, G4TUK with 56. Per the eligibility criteria above, the CDXC Trophy (SSB) 2024 goes to Robert, G4TUK

For MGM, Norman, 5B4AIF topped the table with 174 DXCC followed by Andrey, 5B4AMX with 168 then Lionel, G5LP with 166. Per the eligibility criteria above, the Chairman’s Cup (MGM) 2024 goes to Norman, 5B4AIF

The winner of the 15m Salver was  Lionel, G5LP with 154 DXCC, second was Norman, 5B4AIF with 144 and joint third was Andrey, 5B4AMX and Paul, G0KPH tied on 114 DXCC.

The overall winner for 12m and awarded the Salver is Norman, 5B4AIF with 138 DXCC, second was Lionel, G5LP with 127 and third was Tim, M0BEW with 100 DXCC.

The 10m Salver winner was Norman, 5B4AIF with 164 DXCC, second was Andrey, 5B4AMX with 156 DXCC and in third was Lionel, G5LP with 148.

The overall winner for 6m was Norman, 5B4AIF with total of 45 DXCC, second place this year went to Kev, G0CHE with 42,  Andrey, 5B4AMX was third with 36.

Another great HF Challenge this year with plenty of DX being worked across all bands and modes. Many Congratulations to all the winners, Trophies, Salvers and Certificates will be sent out in due course.

As always we are very grateful to Michael, G7VJR from Club Log for making the CDXC awards programme possible every year.
